When a viewer casts a shadow over the laser beam, phosphorescent text gradually appears beneath the shadow. The text consists of excerpts from the artist’s short story, which follows a figure wandering across an endless horizon in search of an invisible body.
“As the sun sets, my shadow fades. Afraid of disappearing, I run toward the sun.”
“On the water, there is another sun. I try to hold the ripples, but it grows more distorted.”
“Transferring consciousness into darkness.”
”해가 지자, 그림자가 사라지기 시작했다. 나는 내가 사라질까 무서워 해를 향해 달렸다.“ ”물안에도 해가 떠 있었다. 일렁이는 물을 손으로 붙들어 보았지만 형상은 더 일그러져만 갔다.“ ”손으로도 태양이 가려지지 않았다.“
관객이 수평자의 레이저를 가리면, 그림자 아래 야광 텍스트가 드러난다. 이 텍스트는 보이지 않는 육체를 찾아 끝없는 지평을 방황하는 한 인물의 여정을 담은 작가의 단편소설에서 발췌한 문장들이다.
