The areas struck by the light turn black and slowly fade back again. The performer leaves footprints and linked handprints on the photochromic paper. Each trace gradually disappears.
The blacklight produces shadows. Rather than illuminating the surface it touches, it darkens it. The work inverts the conventional function of light.
